Honorary Patron: Judith Forst, O.C., O.B.C.

The Phoenix Chamber Choir's Honorary Patron is the highly esteemed and exceedingly talented Canadian mezzo-soprano, Judith Forst. Ms. Forst has sung with major opera companies throughout North America, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, The Canadian Opera Company, Dallas Opera, New York City Opera, and the Vancouver Opera Association. European engagements have included performances in England, Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Spain.

Critically acclaimed for her deeply moving interpretations in numerous operas, including Janácek's Jenufa, Berg's Wozzeck, Salomé of Richard Strauss, Poulenc's Dialogue of the Carmelites, Ms. Forst has also contributed immensely to the world of contemporary music through her performances in the premières of Les Liasons Dangereuses, Streetcar Named Desire and The Golden Ass. A subject of two full-length nationally televised biographies, Ms. Forst has been inducted into the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. Her recent recording of Canadian works, entitled The Diary of Anne Frank, was honoured by a Juno as well as a West Coast Music Award.

Phoenix is extremely grateful for Ms. Forst's loyal support and encouragement of our musical endeavours.
